Mark and I played two games of Scrabble on Wednesday night, one day before he left for a brief family vacation in Halifax. I played three bingos in those games and the lowest-scoring one was 99 points! For perhaps only the fourth time in seventeen years of Club and Tournament play I played a >200-point triple-triple. While I was going through all the anagrams of PASTURE (really wondering if UPTEARS was acceptable), Mark laid down QUIET with the Q on the DLS in the upper left. I couldn’t believe the opportunity open to me: 221-point PARQUETS. Mark knew it and didn’t challenge.
