On Friday night Mark came over to help me set up my Christmas tree on Saturday morning. My decorating theme this year is blue decorations with solid bulbs. Those particular bulbs are impossible to find for sale anymore. While you can still get small boxes of four large solid multi-coloured replacement bulbs for outdoor use, the smaller kind haven’t been stocked for years. I fear that once my lights burn out, that will be it. You can now find “retro” LED bulbs that are solid in the larger style. They have soft coloured plastic caps that fit over the bulb. The only colour LED “retro” bulbs in the smaller style that I have seen are transparent. I will post photos of my Christmas house when I have finished decorating.
We played eight games during our Christmas prep weekend and I won seven. We even played one game in between watching the Santa Claus Parade on Sunday and before we left for Mark’s hockey game. I was so thoroughly numbed from the chilling winds by waiting outside for 3½ hours that I never took off my sweater, scarf and winter coat when I got back to Mark’s place.
I averaged 445 and Mark 353. Here is the bingo breakdown:
|OURARIS (64)||ORIEnTED (82)|
|SPLINES (79)||NObBIER (66)|
|EGESTION (61)||PRoGRESs (80)|
|ALLERGeN (77)||ETOILES (67)|
|LOBELIAS (74)||ARmAdAS (77)|
|LEANEST (69)||OUTLAST (82)|
|CHARAdE (70)||gUILTIER (59)|
OURARIS was my opening play in our first game. I thought it was a horrible rack until I found the bingo.
After I played ALLERGeN my replacement draw was BIJWWXY. I learned that I could have made my blank an i for ALLERGiN.
I played four bingos on two occasions, one of them being in the final game, where I scored 587-385.
