Over seventeen and a half years of compiling a Top Ten Singles chart, 258 titles reached the top spot. My next list will show all the artists whose sole appearance on the chart was a #1 single. A one-hit wonder can be defined in many different ways, but I will list these artists without prejudice. I will define these artists as those who hit #1 on my chart and made no other appearance either before or after their chart-topper. I was surprised that there were so many one-hit wonders; 54 out of 258 or 21% of chart-toppers.

[1] Mick Jagger is the one-hit wonder; David Bowie had two solo top ten hits.
[2] Duane Eddy is the one-hit wonder. The Art of Noise had one other top ten hit.
[3] Patti La Belle is the one-hit wonder. Michael McDonald had one solo top ten hit.
[4] The Wild Pair is the one-hit wonder. Paula Abdul had eight additional top ten hits.
[5] Martha Wash was the uncredited vocalist on charted hits by c + c music factory and Black Box.
[6] Jocelyn Enriquez is the one-hit wonder. Ultra Naté and Amber both had one solo top ten hit each.
[7] Faith Evans and Kelly Price are the one-hit wonders. Whitney Houston had seventeen additional top ten hits.
[8] The longest run at #1 for a one-hit wonder. I ceased to maintain a Top Ten Singles chart less than a year later so these last one-hit wonders did not have a fair chance of having any follow-up hits.
