I got two new books during my visit to Halifax. One was a Christmas present and the second I picked up at Atlantic News.

Black Ice: The Lost History of the Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes by George & Darril Fosty was a gift from Mark. It was reprinted last year as a twentieth-anniversary edition with a new introduction.

I noticed Letters from Lesotho: Experiences and Adventures of a Canadian Family Living, Teaching, and Travelling in Southern Africa and Beyond by R. F. Cook among the vastly expanded book collection at Atlantic News. Since this legendary newsstand was sold it has increased its book inventory. This edition, signed by the author, was published in August last year. Within its 431 pages Cook tells of his life in Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mali, Kenya, and three places I visited last year: Mauritius, Réunion and Madagascar.
