North Korean birthday cake

On Friday night, the day before the Big Day, Mark brought over a special cake to celebrate my birthday. Fridays are often spent at the home of Geoff Gibson, a Scrabble Club and Tournament player who hosts a casual and social Scrabble evening. Mark ordered an ice cream cake and had it decorated with a North Korean theme:

Okay, so the northern part of the Korean peninsula is not even there, and Russia and China should both be to the left of the Korean blob, but it’s the thought that counts, innit? I can only imagine the look on the decorator’s face when Mark asked him to spell out “Pyongyang” (with a star, designating a capital city).
