I played only two games tonight. People were leaving after round two and it was -12°C on the walk over and likely colder for my half-hour walk back, so I took the offer of a ride home and left early to make the third round even. I won both my games to take my record to 32-4:
427-412 against Sid. Sid exchanged one tile as his first play. I did not have a good enough rack to play anything–ADGORRS, which makes no 7LW or 8LW–so I too exchanged, but three tiles, GOR. If Sid got a letter he was hoping for, then if he played a bingo I most certainly would have responded with my own, since my new rack was ADEIRS? Sid opened with FLAN (14) and I underlapped it to make four 2LW with pRAISED (72). I also played DORkIEST (72) and PRIVATE (79). Sid played STRIVES (80) and ZERO (69),
