I won all three last night to take my record to 24-3:
345-335 against Yvonne. I played IMmUNISE (74) and Yvonne played PISTOLE (72) and OUTWEaRS (64). I challenged PISTOLE unsuccessfully. I immediately saw its anagram, PIOLETS, yet didn’t believe there were any more. I was lucky to win the game by ten even with a loss of turn.
573-282 against Jude. I played ERRANDS (72), FONTANeL (83), WEIGHTED (110) and DEBASERS (86).
367-307 against Charles. My first rack was BIKLNOY which I arranged on my rack to read BONKILY. There was no way I believed BONKILY was even a word; that arrangement shows my technique of forming familiar patterns with my tiles, in this case, possible adverbs with the -ILY suffix. However, to my amazement, there is a 7LW with those letters: LINKBOY. I did not know the word, and likely wouldn’t have even seen it had I formed BOY on my rack. It would have played, as Charles opened the game with OURIE, placing the O on the star. LINKBOY is a rare 7LW, ranking 20548 out of 25473. The only 8LW that rack makes is its plural. I played two bingos: CONELIKE (66) and DeCRIEs (70).
