I had three high-scoring wins last night, accumulating 1491 points to my opponents’ 874. My record is now 35-7:
443-341 against Yvonne. I played CANTINAs (70) and MILeAGES (90) and Yvonne played SANTIRS (73).
581-263 against Peter H. I had three bingos: DIsTEND (75), HERIOTS (69) and AGONISE (78) and Peter played SPOONERs (63). Our game had six S’s on the board. I started the game with an abundance of high-point consonants. Fortunately they combined well together so my first three plays were CHUMP (28), YAFF (40) and DAVY (19). In those plays the only letter I built through was the U, so my entree of alphabet soup looked like AACDFFHMPVYY. I played my first bingo after that and then was lumbered with a clunky rack again (BBCEINT) which I used to make EBBET (36). So in spite of some really awful racks I was able to find places to play my first three words that scored well.
467-270 against Nicole. I played OEDEMAS (83), PALTRIER (72) and ROTATiNG (66). With my first bingo rack I arranged the letters to form EDEMA and then realized it took a front O-.
