I won two out of three last night to take my record to 83-13:
415-351 against Chris Lo. I played REVOLVEd (64) and MeNSHES (85). That is the only 7LW in my second bingo rack. Chris played TUNNIES (73).
313-349 against Jean. I played LATHERS (76). I struggled with so much consonant duplication in this game, holding NNTT and NNRR. Jean on the other hand was overrun with vowels. Her final rack was AIIINY?
406-389 against John D. I played HAIRNETS (76) and ARANEID (68) and John played WARBlES (74). In a close game till the end I held the rack ACDEISS and wrote DISCASE on the back of my score sheet. There were places for it, but I chickened out and played the C and D around a U to make CUD (12) instead, hoping to front-hook it with SCUD later. That never happened. Once again I see these words, even write them down, then doubt myself. The endgame was close and as we replayed it, I realized that I needed to go out to win, as John had a lucrative 18-point play I could do nothing about. I was lucky to fit my EGINPT around an open -ER- to make PETERING, also hooking AH to make AHI, for 17, and go out.
