I won all three last night to take my record to 38-7:
411-394 against Steve. I played NARDINe (76) and TRAINING (80) and Steve played OPERAtE (67) and CATENOID (76). The game was close after my late second bingo and I had to think through my endgame carefully. I had less than a minute left on my clock.
458-373 against Jonathan. I opened with CLEAVED (84) then played ONESiES (70) and BOuVIER (103). Jonathan ended the game with INSURERS (59), then got 22 points from my final rack. Jonathan made a play, ABA, such that the square to the left of the A was a DLS along the left TWS row. I believed he must be holding the other B, allowing him to play BABA as well as a word to the TWS, provided it was at least five letters long. To my surprise, I drew the B in my replacement pick after he played ABA. My new rack was BEIORV? and I found the only 7LW that begins with a B.
443-384 against Peter H. I played LANGRELS (63), INDURES (68)* and BRONZE (63). With DEINRSU I believed, mistakenly, that INSURED, which I found right away, had an anagram–and I was going to find it, so help me. In order for my bingo to go down, it had to end in S, so INSURED was not possible. Peter played SEEKiNG (83) and PrOMOTER (92).
