I visited the Arch of Reunification after my trip to the DMZ on September 8, 2011. Sadly, Kim Jong Un ordered it demolished barely a week ago. Formally known as the Monument to the Three-Point Charter for National Reunification (hence the 3 in the name, seen underneath the map of the Korean peninsula in the second photo below) this arch represented the hope–lip service as we all know it was–for the harmonious reunion of the divided country.

This is very troublesome, but no surprise. Another war on the horizon. Hopefully, I’m wrong.
