One month ago I read Two on the Rocks, a memoir by Gerald F. Carlson about his and his wife Donna’s year spent teaching on Little Diomede Island. In the past month I have found the Carlsons’ granddaughter on-line and we have exchanged E-mails. I only had fond praise for this book and the Carlsons’ sole grandchild was ebullient in her reminiscences about her beloved grandparents.
I was fortunate to find an autographed edition of Two on the Rocks for sale. It is a 1966 blue hardcover edition. The inscription is shown below:
