Mark and I played five games this past weekend and I won them all, however in one game where I was ahead at one point 259-78, Mark managed to come back to nonetheless lose 416-396. His back-to-back plays double-crossing the X and then the J on a TWS for 54 and 58 points respectively certainly helped him catch up. Here is the bingo breakdown:
| Craig | Mark |
| RELENTS (65) | fATaLISM (59) |
| EXPANdER (68) | SNOWIER (73) |
| SEMIRAW (73) | INCiSoR (72) |
| VERATRiA (83) | |
| GARBANZO (72) | |
| COuGHED (73) | |
| PoLISHER (78) | |
| PURITAN (79) | |
| THENARS (68) |
Four weeks ago SEMIRAW turned up in a phony anagram sort of way. My style of arranging tiles plopped that bingo right in front of me: I arranged my tiles to spell MISWEAR, which I immediately recognized made the legitimate bingo SEMIRAW.
I played GARBANZO through the Z. Mark had just made the play ZOO, sticking the Z out. It’s amazing that the only letters AABGNOR builds through are one of the least common (the Z) or the most common (the E, to make BARONAGE).
