On our first night in Glasgow (Sunday, September 29) Mark and I were looking for a place to have dinner. We walked around the streets close to our hostel because we didn’t want to go back downtown, yet didn’t see anyplace we liked. As we were walking along Woodlands Road we saw a sandwich board outside a combination pub/sports bar/restaurant called Dram! A couple was sitting outside and the man raved about the roast beef dinner. We listened to his recommendation and walked a little further on yet returned to the place.
When I travel I like to partake of the local cuisine so upon scanning the special Sunday menu, Mark and I both decided to have the roast chicken and haggis. I knew that haggis was made from offal and I was interested in trying it. I had, after all, done some research on haggis before we left on our trip so knew what to expect. As for what animal was being used (sheep or calf) I didn’t ask.
I normally don’t take pictures of my food yet in this case I made an exception and although my mouth was watering I held off satisfying my hunger for a few seconds to snap the photo below:

The haggis is under the chicken leg. It was salty, slightly spicy and a bit nutty. I loved it and ate it all. My mother used to make her own Yorkshire pudding and I haven’t eaten it in decades. I left my pudding till the end as I concentrated on all the other food on my plate. In the end I polished off everything. It was a scrumptious dinner. The restaurant’s own website posts its regular Monday-to-Saturday menu but not its Sunday menu. Good thing then that I decided to take a copy of it for myself as a souvenir. It was a simple photocopy, nothing fancy. The roast chicken and haggis is the second selection under Sunday Roasts:
